Vote April 7th -April 14th

I’m Dominique (they/them) and I am running to be one of your next Executive Council members. Like many of you, organizing with CWG was a bright spot during the long work hours and harsh working conditions on the campaign trail.

I want to continue to give back to our union and believe that our members are uniquely positioned to make real change within progressive organizations and Democratic campaigns.

Priorities

  • Growing our Union

One of the greatest strengths of CWG is our Associate Members. We need to reach out to former working members and invite them back to our union.

Additionally, we need to start organizing beyond CWG to build strong partnerships with other unions and progressive organizations to hold our bosses accountable to the promises they make to the American people.

  • Increasing Membership Engagement

Our union is only as strong as our ability to organize. We need to develop an intentional strategy focused on welcoming new members to the work CWG is doing nationally. We also need to start organizing internally to sustain relationships and increase membership engagement.

  • Bargaining for the Common Good

Our members work for influential organizations and individuals within progressive spaces and Democratic politics. This presents an incredible opportunity for CWG to bargain for the common good and propose contract language that will push our employers to be more transparent and progressive on the issues that impact the communities we work in.

It’s also no secret that leadership and management often don’t listen to the suggestions and ideas of organizers who are doing the work on the ground. It’s time for us to push the envelope and propose language in our contracts that require management to work with us to develop organizing strategies and programs that grow and sustain the work we do.

About Me

Bargaining Experience

I have bargaining experience within CWG and outside of CWG. In 2020 I served as a bargaining team member and union steward for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin Field Staff Union. Currently, I serve as the Second Chair for the Arizona Democrats HQ Staff Union.

Outside of CWG I serve as a bargaining team member for the Prince George’s County Educators’ Association that represents 10,000+ Maryland educators.

Committee Work

Over the years I’ve been an active member of the Palestine Solidarity and Bargaining Committee. Most recently, I’ve joined the Membership Engagement committee.

Other Relevant Experience

I’ve served in both local and state Democratic Party leadership that has greatly informed my vision for bargaining for the common good to benefit workers and the greater community.
